"The small yet deceivingly spacious studio of painter Andrew Fish is housed in an old red-brick building above a foam-cutting company, part of the Vernon Street Studios in Somerville, which houses several artist studios. A blue-velvet upholstered couch that looks like it was jettisoned from a tasteful high society home years ago fills the left wall beside a vintage flatbed printing press decorated with scraps of paper and old ink. A desk sits in the opposite corner of the room, barely visible beneath the tubes of paint, buckets of brushes, and..."

  2. On their final trial as village LOOKOUTS, a troop of young scouts are ambushed by the very creature they were hunting. After a violent battle the lone survivor, Pehn, escapes into the shadows of the Eyrewood, a mysterious and deadly forest that is home to all manner of wild creatures. The most horrifying of all is the Basilisk, a winged titan with the power to turn its prey into stone. This is the beast the troop of LOOKOUTS were seeking, and now it hunts for Pehn.

This short film is our first exploration into classic narrative filmmaking and it was an absolute joy to create. LOOKOUTS gave us an opportunity to explore new storytelling techniques as well as play with gear and tools in a format outside of advertising. The majority of the film is shot practically with live visual effects. We built sets, costumes, and monsters inspired by Jim Henson’s creations from our childhood, then brought all of those resources together with a wonderful cast and crew into the misty overgrowth of Mendocino’s redwood forests for a production experience we’ll forever cherish.

Much has been made about the wonders of Venice, but few ever venture deep enough across its less touristy, yet still historical hidden places. Beyond hundreds of canals and a diverse architectural style, a secret facet of Venetian life lives on, in which the journey of hand crafting gondola wooden oars and loomed fabrics remains rooted in ancient folk traditions.
This short film uncovers the secrets that have been handed down from father to son and projects you to the Venice that existed 500 years ago, immersing you in the extraordinary craftsmen’s veiled workshops that belong to a long lost era.

I have received so many messages asking for details on how I produce my videos.
I put down this short piece: this explains few techniques I have been using and includes a list of equipment. Don't hesitate to write to me if you need further details or have any recommendation.

This project has been produced in partnership with René Caovilla, the master Venetian shoemaker who has overwhelmed the world with his creations.
