CE CÔTÉ EN HAUT: The Fragile World of Constellation is an exhibition on the activities of Montreal-based independent music label Constellation Records (CST), home of influential bands such as Do Make Say Think, Godspeed You Black Emperor, Fly Pan Am or Elfin Saddle and Hrsta among many others.
Designed by the creative heads of the Dis-patch Collective (Belgrade, Serbia) under the conceptual response of the curator Relja Bobić, this exhibition concept displays the initiating spirit of sub-cultural activism in the Franco-Canadian music scene. Operating strongly with local artists from Montreal, the work of Constellation Records is an example for the potential of music cultures to distribute ideals, codes and aesthetic approaches globally and transculturally. The carefully crafted art works of CSTs 15 year music production are presented in a decided architectural display relating strongly to principles of their sub-cultural activity: lightness and flexibility, multi-authorship and experimentation - central to the nomadic life-style of the labels protagonists.
The project is an independent initiative of Dis-patch, but has been supported and approved by the label. It is available for touring from February 2013.

A workshop realized in a collaboration between Smart Kolektiv and Lice Ulice magazine from Belgrade, Serbia and their partners in Sarajevo, Bosnia. Dis-patch was the curator and producer of the mini-program. This is one of the results of a 1,5-day workshop with a mixed group of high school kids from the local school and the local Roma community. The workshop was facilitated by Isidora Nikolic and Luka Knezevic Strika. Small groups of young guys spent an afternoon together and photographed their surroundings and experiences. Each one then formed a DIY zine which they personally assembled.
The photos were printed, glued and zines binded on-site. 4 zines were produced in limited editions of 3 copies each. The documentation of the project will be part of a mini-exhibition as part of a festival produced by Lice Ulice in September 2012.
