Shot within a couple hours on a sunny Saturday afternoon, "Bending Sounds" is a test/experiment to capture the inspirational sounds and visuals of the NYC subway.

A short film based on current conditions in Chernobyl & Pripyat. This was my first documentary as an amateur filmmaker. It was made on no budget. The only costs involved were just the travel expenses to the Ukraine and the private tour into the zone.
Filmed with a Canon 7D with a Canon 17-85mm IS, 70-300mm IS & Sigma 10-22mm. Sound was captured with a Sennheiser wireless radio mic and recorded on a Roland R05. Edited with Adobe Premiere CS5 and After Effects CS5.
Tonya Littlewolf has rescued wolves all her life. At a sanctuary in the empty California desert, she looks after 14 majestic wolves which have been rescued from breeders. Yet, as she cares for the creatures, even feeding them mouth-to-mouth, Tonya questions whether these wolves would be better off in the wild. WOLF MOUNTAIN is a beautiful portrait of Tonya that explores her spiritual connection with the serene and misunderstood animals.

Chris Dean’s heart stopped when he was two. He died but he came back. When Chris was five, his father was murdered, riddled by more than 20 bullets in a gang shootout. At age 18, Chris gained national attention when he introduced President Barack Obama at his high school graduation. Chris is an observer and philosopher who has always had a few things to say about life from his vantage point in South Memphis. He and Emmy-Award winning filmmaker Alan Spearman walked the neighborhood for eight weeks observing and recording what became the script of As I Am. This film floats through this remarkable young man's landscape, revealing the lives that have shaped his world. Poetic and powerful imagery, captured by Spearman and cinematographer Mark Adams, combines with the young philosopher’s trenchant observations about life.

'A swimmingly edited, life-affirming film. Genuinely touching.'
— Robert Silva, IndieWire
'Hands-down the funniest documentary of the year.'
— Marianna Torgovnick, TED
'An ode to human obsession, dedication and monumental silliness.'
— Lena Dystant, Selectism
'A complex appraisal of a fascinating individual...McGinn's film excels because it does more than just focus on Furman’s unconventional hobby. As emotionally complex as it is gloriously ludicrous.'
