Much of Second Life is ephemeral, but nothing is quite as temporary as the campsites and designer regions that characterise the Relay For Life of Second Life regions across the RFL weekend event held in mid-July every year, the culmination of the virtual world's premier charity fundraising effort.

The site is vast and the builds surrounding the track are many, all present for only a weekend plus a few days - it would be impossible to show even a fraction in a single programme.

We've visited just a few that caught our eyes, and talked with one or two of the designers to give you a flavour of the event – and in addition we've included an extra-length slideshow of Wildstar Beaumont's excellent photographyto catch some more – as we kick off our latest season of Designing Worlds.
