Howard Hall (howardhall.com) took me up for a flight in his ultralight experimental trike over Anza Borrego Desert on December 29, 2012. We flew across the desert to the Salton Sea and back. I love ultralights; his flies as slowly as 60 MPH, and a view of terrain from above is always enlightening.
Footage was taken with a Sony RX100 at 1080/60p, 28Mbps, and is unmodified aside from transcoding to 720/30p H.264, 5-7Mbps for web upload.
A short medley of underwater video clips shot and edited together by Eric Cheng. Video was captured during the Wetpixel Ultimate Indonesia Expedition 2012 from Ambon to Kaimana (Triton Bay, Bird's Head Peninsula), including Banda and Momon. Footage shot using two cameras:
1. Canon 5D Mark III in Nauticam underwater housing with Magic Filter and manual white balance; XIT 404 tripod mount and telescoping tripod legs (when stabilized)
2. GoPro HERO2 in Dive Housing and Backscatter Flip-Up Color Correction Filter for GoPro
When I was on the Sea Shepherd boat in Antarctica during 2009/2010, I captured an unusual sequence of images: a sequence of an iceberg arch collapsing. I literally raised my camera to my eye (Canon 1D Mark II w/70-200/2.8L lens), and the arch collapsed. I mashed the shutter button down and captured 20 frames—in bursts. I shot in bursts because I was afraid that the buffer wouldn't hold.
Later, I pulled the frames into Motion and created this video.
