It all started 2008 as a small arrangement. The festival is a non-profit organization.
All surplus money is fully returned to the next year’s budget.

The music we concentrate on is electronic rock, synth pop and similar styles. As of today, there is only 1 other festival in Norway that concentrates on this genre. It is held in Oslo in november every year. The agegroup we aim for, is mainly between 18-40 because this musicstyles had its peak in the 80’s and has loyal followers since then. The younger generations also join in more and more.

We feel certain that 1 festival a year is not enough to satisfy the requests from the national audience, and to get more concerts/festival, they have to go to Sweden, Germany, Denmark, and Britain and so on.
Knowing this, we strongly feel that we have the foundation to build a big and strong festival.
We didn’t want to start too big, but rather grow steadily every year.

The 2009 festival took place on 22. May. We had booked bands from Norway and Germany this time. These band were; Channel East and Helios Germany and Sub State, NorthBorne, In Vein and Supercraft from Norway. Both Channel East, In Vein and Supercraft played on the 2008 festival too.

The organizers are every pleased with the 2009 festival and all its visitors. A short summer holiday will be in order now, and then we start the planning for ELECTROCK 2010 in August.

We wish you all welcome back in 2010.

Greetings

Geir A Johansen
Festival Manager
