  2. شاركت فرقة الطنبورة البورسعيدية في مهرجان اشطورة ٢٠١٦ الذي تم تنظيمه بصحراء محافظة الفيوم بحرفية بالغة من القائمين على هذا التنظيم. في بداية عرض فرقة الطنبورة كان جمهور المهرجان الذي معظمه من الشباب يتسائل كيف لهؤلاء العواجيز امتاعنا.. ولكنهم في نهاية العرض كانوا مدهوشين من العرض الساحر الذي قدمته الفرقة.

    El Tanbura band participated in Oshtoora Festival 2016 which was organized at the desert of El Fayoum’s city with a high level of professionalism by the organizers. At the beginning of the performance, the audience which most of them were young people, they wondered how a band of old people can entertain them.. However at the end of the performance they were astonished by the delightful performance of El Tanbura band

  3. El Mastaba Center for Egyptian Folk Music was founded in 2000 by Zakaria Ibrahim to revive Egypt’s rich and outstanding musical heritage. The center is unique in its efforts to reintroduce folk music in its original communities and to revitalize its role in the daily life and imagination of the Egyptian people.
    El Mastaba has adopted a systematic approach to create a network and a new generation of talented Egyptian folk musicians that includes the organization of seminars and workshops, as well as performances for outstanding bands from all over Egypt. Moreover, the center strongly believes in the role of documentation in the protection, revival and development of the traditional music.
    Various facilities and up-to-date equipment are available at El Mastaba Center, which is prepared to receive researchers and folk music lovers from Egypt and all over the world. Moreover, the center houses an archive of audio-visual material, especially for its bands that reflect the cultural heritage of marginalized ethnic communities in Egypt: from the city of Port Said (El Tanbura), from the city of Suez (Henna), from the city of Ismailiyya (El Wazery), from the Sudanese-Egyptian musical heritage related to Zar (Rango), from Nubia (NobaNoor), from the spiritual Sufi music related to Zar (Darawish Abou El Gheit), from the shores of Lake Manzalla, Dakahlia governorate (El Baramka), from North Sinai region (Bedouin Jerry-Can) and from Upper Egypt two bands(El Kafafa and Mazamer El Nil).
