Primavera Sound 2010 festival was taking place soon, and San Miguel, as main sponsor, had launched a TV spot named "Piñatas" in which two of these festivity containers exploded, letting out a varied number of elements. The claim being "Can you imagine what could happen if you create your own way of feeling the music?"
With that concept in mind, we worked together with the creative team at Publicis Modem to develop a microsite in which the user could really create a piñata of their own, only to make it explode afterwards.
We wanted to give them the opportunity to choose which elements they wanted to fill their piñata with, so we did! And we also thought it could be a nice idea to enable a certain level of customization for your piñata: hairstyle, eye color, clothing, shoes, complements, etc..
Once your piñata is created and before watching it explode, you can post it in your facebook wall or download an image of your creation. Can you imagine what could happen if you create your own way of feeling the music?
Clinique wanted their clients and fans to test real products and get real results. To achieve this, their creative agency proposed a real time live chat with someone at Clinique beauty department, in which he/she will answer every question the users had regarding a specific line of products.
That line of products was Clinique Antiblemish solutions, and we where the production company chosen by TBWA\ to make it a real marketing tool fort them.
The chat had some technical issues that had to be resolved, due to the fact that it was going to be developed using actionscript technology and thus it will be browsed using flash player. The main issue being the refresh interval required for the project to actually work business wise.
The whole system also needed a powerful, reliable and easy-to-use CMS so that the marketing team at Clinique will be able to publish the questions and post the answers in real time.
When TBWA\ Madrid called and started briefing us about a year-round project for McDonald´s that would involve monthly updates and a really rich visual experience intended to kids, we where more than happy.
Not only this site was challenging for us, but it was also our first of many projects for this agency and this world class client. To sum up, once our team started to work with the agency´s creative team, and the site started coming to life, we all agreed this was a nice chance to be part of a beautiful development.
The layout was so trend-oriented and well targeted that we inmediately understood our main contribution to the project was to create some state-of-the-art interactions and animations. And so we did, using not only as3 actionscript, but involving our motion graphics and after effects teams as well.
Mr Happy was online for a whole year, with regular product and promo updates, each of them having a distinctive layout that matched the current Happy Meal promo at McDonald´s restaurants. The fact that this site was intended for kids made it even more special to all of us.
