In this demo I set up the Canon EOS 7D and EOS 5D Mark II side-by-side. The EOS 7D had the 24-105mm f/4L IS Lens, while the EOS 5D Mark II had the 70-200mm F2.8 IS Lens.
The EOS 5D Mark II image at the same settings had a more shallow depth of field, mostly due to the larger sensor. The focus point in this video was the Yamaha logo located just above the LCD screen near the center of the keyboard.
These were the settings
- Focal Length: 70mm
- Shutter Speed: 1/60th Second
- Aperture: F/4.0
- Resolution: 1080p @ ~30fps
- 59 Seconds record time
- EOS 5DMKII Original file size: 298,874KB
- EOS 7D Original file size: 353,685KB (18% Larger)
Despite recording at the same resolution and fps (29.97 vs 30) and both having an identical recording time of 59 seconds, the EOS 7D's file size was 18% larger than the file on the EOS 5D Mark II.
