For over 30 years the Hydrus was the one ship on the bottom of Lake Huron that 75-year-old shipwreck hunter David Trotter wanted to find.
In July of 2015 he and the divers he works with found the 434 foot freighter using side scan sonar.
The Hydrus sunk in Lake Huron during the Great Storm of 1913. It was a fierce storm with 80 mph winds, waves at 35 feet and killed 250 people, sinking 12 freighters.
This video story is about the history of the storm, the search and discovery of the Hydrus and the first dive made on this historic find.

Nice altitude Eric! A couple freshly charged Anti-Fog Inserts in the housing should eliminate any fogging potential on future flights. Looking forward to the next video!
