Houston Housing and Neighborhood Rights Campaign - Texas Organizing Project

This is the first in a series of "community chats," hosted by the Texas Organizing Project (TOP), on fair housing and neighborhood rights in Houston. This chat features the release of a major study by Dr. Ira Goldstein of The Reinvestment Fund, commissioned by the City of Houston. The study compares the "market value" in neighborhoods across Houston based on a composite of a number of city data sources, It documents a wide degree of neighborhood market inequality, particularly between neighborhoods occupied principally by White persons and neighborhoods principally occupied by people of color. Responses to the study are presented by TOP leaders, US Representative Sheila Jackson Lee and Houston housing director Neal Rackleff. The event was held October 21, 2014.
