We are very privileged to have John Upton on the next episode Photo Espresso. John has been a photographer for over 60 years, having trained with legends such as Ansel Adams, Minor White, Edward Weston and Imogen Cunningham. John has spent his professional career as a fine artist, a commercial photographer and a university and college professor in the US and internationally. His work has been featured in countless galleries and since 1999 he has retired from teaching to focus on his photography. Currently, he is working on a project he calls Japanalia which is a work composed of images he has taken over the last 33 years of visiting the country. We are excited to see the story of Japan that his images tell as the culture and country has evolved over the last three decades. Making it all the more relevant, the more recent changes in Japan with the tsunami disaster, we hope to hear John’s perspective given his intimate knowledge of the country.
