A three minute introduction, for a three part series about my trip to Thailand in November and December of 2011. I had the opportunity to adventure around various parts of Thailand; two weeks volunteering as a snake and animal rescue service to the flood zones of Bangkok, a week of Cobra hunting and trekking through Suphan Buri / rural Thailand. Finally arriving at Khao Yai Park towards the north.

This is the intro... the tip of the iceberg. Following this video, three installments; Food, Floods, and Fauna.

Food - Along the way of the trip, our fixer Gong introduced me to the vast and complex flavours of Thai cuisine and the navigation of the marketplace. We dined and cooked our way to relative food revolution. I can't wait to take you along for trips through two markets as well as cooking for ourselves up in Khao Yai Park.

Floods - Starting in Bangkok and staying for two weeks in the flood zone was a challenge. It was difficult to get to places on time given the grand and vast size of the city, not to mention deal with reptiles and other animals that usually remained unidentified until we arrived at the scene. The people of downtown Bangkok as well as those in rural areas banded together to help get through this trying time. We lent a helping hand, removing potentially dangerous animals form peoples homes and businesses to relocate them to less populated areas.

Fauna - Along with the animals encountered in Bangkok during our flood assistance, there were many instances when we interacted with wild and interesting animals. I'm looking forward to bringing you with me to a customs facility outside Bangkok where hundreds of animals sit waiting for paperwork and brokers to decide their fate. As well as to a crocodile farm, to a rice paddy crawling with Cobras and finally up to Kaho Yai for Giant Porcupine and others!

I'm doing these in my free time... fingers crossed I can get the next one out in less than four years!! HA!
