French philosopher and playwright Alain Jugnon in conversation with Nathanaël. Hosted by Patrick Durgin.

Alain Jugnon joins us for a reading from and conversation about his book "a body, in spite: a slight philosophy for actors," with writer-translator Nathanaël. They discuss the porous borders between theory and practice, under the auspices of philosophy, theatre, and poetry. Jugnon’s "Artaud in Amerika" will premier in December as a radio play commissioned for the 2017 Festival of Poets Theater in Chicago. Festival co-curator Patrick Durgin will join in to discuss the piece. Co-sponsored by the Departments of Liberal Arts and Visual & Critical Studies, and the France-Chicago Center at the University of Chicago.
