  2. Specific Practices of Ministry • Defining using Spiritual Gifting 70principle.org
In this lesson we will look at (Prophesy, Tongues and the Interpretation of Tongues)
All the 9 Spiritual gifts mentioned in this list are super-natural manifestations of the Holy Spirit, they are not our natural gifts or abilities. God gave these specially designed gifts to the church because they are the best tools for the job.
    1. Word of wisdom: a momentary impartation of divine wisdom pertaining to the situation at hand
    2. Word of knowledge: supernaturally been made aware of information that you did not known before
    3. Gift of faith: a sudden elevation of your ability to believe God for something.
    4. Gifts of healing: a supernatural ability to bring healing many times by the laying on of hands
    5. Miraculous powers: the power to do things miracles
    6. Prophecy: to speak the immediate Word of the Lord:
    7. Discerning of spirits: the ability to see into the spiritual world and or be made
supernaturally aware of spiritual beings and their intent.
    8. Tongues: speaking a language you have not learned by the power of the holy spirit
    9. Interpretation of tongues: a momentary ability to understand a language you did not
learn or to give the interpretation of the message given tongues.
These are all amazing gifts & God encourages us to earnestly desire them.

  3. SUFFER THE LITTLE CHILDREN TO COME UNTO ME - forbid them not: for of such is the kingdom of God.
As Jesus was teaching, a commotion broke out as some mothers with children tried to push to the front of the crowd so wanting Jesus, to meet and bless their little children.
Mark 10:13-16 "And they (some mothers) brought young children to him, that he should touch them: and his disciples rebuked those that brought them. But when Jesus saw it, he was much displeased, and said unto them, Suffer the little children to come unto me, and forbid them not: for of such is the kingdom of God. Verily I say unto you, Whosoever shall not receive the kingdom of God as a little child, he shall not enter therein. And he took them up in his arms, put his hands upon them, and blessed them."

THIS PASSAGE REVEALED A CONFLICT BETWEEN TWO GROUPS OF PEOPLE!
The first group believed that the most important thing was listening to the teaching Jesus was presenting.
The second group believed that having Jesus meet and bless their children was most important -
going so far as to interrupt His sermon on the mountain!
The disciples were part of the first group quickly judging that the Word was top priority!
But Jesus overruled and rebuked them, saying:
“Suffer the little children to come unto me, and forbid them not: for of such is the kingdom of God.”
I find the word used by the KJV to be fascinating: “SUFFER” the children (most translations use ”permit”). In the 1600’s the English word “suffer” meant permit. However, the definition changed through the years. It morphed from suffer, to tolerate, to allow, and then to permit. Now suffering means to endure (pain, distress, injury, loss, or anything unpleasant).
Sadly many adults subconsciously treat children as something to be tolerated or endured.
BUT NOT JESUS! He stopped teaching the crowd to listen and interact with the children.
JESUS KNEW THAT CHILDREN NEED TO:
    ● Be touched… before they will open up and talk.
    ● Trust… before they are taught.
    ● Be loved and listened to…. before they’ll learn.
This concept also applies to adults! I have found that sometimes… WE NEED TO BE HEARD TO BE HEALED!
James 5:16 “Confess your sins to one another, and pray for one another so that you may be healed. “
So much of my ministry involves listening, most I counsel know the answers. They just need someone to listen to them and then prayed for.
    I CHALLENGE YOU TO LISTEN
    ● Being heard… is a step toward being healed.
    ● Being Seen… is a step toward being Saved.
    Are you Listening!

  5. KINGDOM METRICS
    HOW ARE YOU DOING TODAY?
That is a loaded question if it is not simply a polite greeting, but a question needing to be further defined.
WHAT IS THE QUESTION REGARDING? Do you mean …am I healthy… am I happy… am I current on all my bills? Are you wondering if I have unresolved problems at home or work? What are you asking?
TODAY I’M ASKING, HOW YOU ARE DOING IN YOUR SPIRITUAL LIFE - which greatly affects everything else.
    ● Are you maturing in your walk with God? ●Are you progressing as you should be?
It’s an important question that all of us should be asking ourselves on a regular basis.
Though the Bible warns us about judging others, it encourages us to judge (evaluate) ourselves.
1 Corinthians 11:31 “For if we would judge ourselves, we should not be judged.”
1 Corinthians 2:15 “But the spiritual man judges all things; and he himself is judged of no man.”
So how DO we evaluate ourselves spiritually? By what criteria do we determine our status?
This message, “Kingdom Metrics” will help you understand how God evaluates our Spiritual progress.
The definition of “metrics” is: Standards of measurement by which efficiency, performance, progress, or quality of a plan, process, or product can be assessed.
What is God’s metric for evaluating our spiritual status?
    ● What is the standard of Measurement that God uses to assess our spiritual growth?
    ● What is the goal God says we should aspire to?
    ● What are the characteristics of a good citizen in God’s Kingdom?
If we do not know what God wants us to be… we are unlikely to become it
If you don’t know, take comfort that even Jesus’ disciples did not get it right away.
IF YOU ARE INTERESTED (AND YOU SHOULD BE) LISTEN TO THIS MESSAGE!
