What if Lovecraft's scenarios of cosmic horror were encountered by modern, doped-out college students? At The Reefers Of Madness answers this question as three stoner students steal the forbidden Necronomicon from the Miskatonic University library in order to conjure up "non-Euclidean weed". Soon they find themselves laughing and killing in joy just as Lovecraft predicted as insanity and hilarity ensue.
Starring Luke Marty, Calwyn Shurgold, Kyle Maguire, Jeff Orchard, Danielle Barker and Dan Pagett.

This is a short excerpt from the final scene of a short film I directed in late 2008. The entire short didn't turn out quite as I had hoped but this last portion features an effects shot I did in After Effects of a cyclist being hit by a Toronto TTC streetcar that looks alright.
Shot on Canon HV20, edited in Adobe Premiere CS 3.
Featuring Tam Best, Robert Nolan, Mary Kate Haché, Andrea Brown, Kelly-Marie Murtha, Allan Turner.
Directed by Brian Clement.
Teaser preview for At The Reefers Of Madness, directed by Brian Clement.
At The Reefers Of Madness is a Lovecraft-influenced stoner comedy that imagines what would happen if modern college students attending Miskatonic University found themselves in the possession of the ancient book of evil, The Necronomicon. Instead of using it to obtain limitless power, they only want to conjure more weed for themselves. A Disciple of the Great Old Ones offers to grant their wish in exchange for a sacrifice. Soon the students find themselves 'laughing and killing in joy' as absurdity and insanity ensue.
