The Inaugural Lecture of Dr. Scott Cormode the Hugh De Pree Professor of Leadership Development.
Prior to his appointment at Fuller, Cormode served for ten years as George Butler Associate Professor of Church Administration and Finance at Claremont School of Theology, and was also associate dean of the seminary. Working to build a scholarly approach to Christian leadership, Cormode founded the Academy of Religious Leadership (ARL), which is now the professional society for professors who teach leadership throughout theological education, and is founding editor of the Journal of Religious Leadership. In addition to his academic work, Cormode is ordained by the Presbyterian Church (USA).
The Inaugural lecture of Dr. Clayton J. Schmit, Arthur DeKruyter/Christ Church Oak Brook Professor of Preaching and Academic Director for the Brehm Center for Worship, Theology, and the Arts.
Clayton J. Schmit joined Fuller’s faculty in 2000 and teaches homiletics and a variety of courses in liturgical arts. He is an accomplished choral music director, a published composer, and the author of several books, including Sent and Gathered: A Worship Manual for the Missional Church (2009) and Too Deep for Words: A Theology of Liturgical Expression (2002). Schmit is an ordained minister in the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America.
