Gameface Addiction

This hunt was done in partnership with Racks & Furs Outfitters in northern NM. Contact info is in the video.

We had a great time on this hunt and the lodge these guys have is incredible. They treat you like kings at Racks & Furs. We felt right at home, we felt like family. The country out there is gorgeous and there was plenty of water in ponds and creeks. We saw elk, deer, turkey, bear and coyotes. We took a great bear on opening day after rigging up on our fifth track of the morning. There were tons of dogs and two outstanding houndsmen taking control of the dogs.

This early season hunt is a great opportunity in NM. It gives you the opportunity to kick your season off in August on a rifle hunt. The bears are not spooked out of the area this early. So you have a chance to get on multiple bears. The down side is that they are not fattened up yet. We took a large boar that weighed in at 275 pounds. He would have gone over three hundred pounds just two months later. However, he may not have been there two months later after all the hunting pressure. These are the pros and cons of this early season hunt. We enjoy the early season hunt as it kicks off our season in August, and we have good luck seeing multiple bears due to the lack of pressure.

Gameface Addiction began with my passion for hunting. I've hunted all my life. But like a lot of folks out there, it took a while for me to have the time and resources to hunt as much as I would like. Those early years were the foundation. Countless days and hours spent in the field learning and gaining valuable experience. Before I knew it, I was on a hunt once a month for nine or ten months out of the year. People were thinking I was crazy. I was doing this with a full time job, a wife, two kids. Hunting was and is my addiction; truly. Someone coined the nickname "Gameface" for me at one point. Gameface Addiction was a good fit and the rest is well, you know the rest.

My life became a hunter's life. Things revolved around my hunting schedule, and my hunting schedule revolved around my life. I found ways to hunt on weekends or take time off. I found unique ways to finance my hunts and trips without impacting my family budget. I rarely missed anything with my wife or kids because of hunting. It was truly a lifestyle I adapted to and built my life around. That was the basis for Gameface Addiction.

A product line was launched with the Gameface Addiction logo. Sponsors wanted to get on board. We began to video our hunts. The video is the latest step in the addiction. We are not movie stars at Gameface Addiction. We do not pretend or attempt to be video experts. We are just hunters who try and film their hunts. We do not film every single hunt. But we try to capture what we can and share it with our team, sponsors, family and friends. We are still learning.

With that said, we hope you can appreciate our very humble projects. We are true examples of every day guys who are simply obsessed with hunting and who build our lives around the activity. We are not trophy hunters or movie stars. We are just hunters with an addiction........a Gameface Addiction.
