Music video for "Normandy Landscape" by Seamonster from the Baldessari LP on Gold Robot Records. Available at tinyurl.com/bwvy8zs
Directed by Chad Hartigan
Seamonster named the album after John Baldessari and notes that his creative appropriation of discarded materials to make new and interesting art was a huge inspiration to the process of making this particular group of songs. As an extension of that theme, the video was created solely from Seamonster's own family collection of Super8 home movies, made by his grandparents nearly fifty years ago.

"During the 2 year period between when my old band ended and I started Yalls, i pretty much only cared about Astronomy. I sold my instruments (aside from one guitar) and got a telescope, binoculars, lenses, books, etc. I didn't go to any shows, or events. All i really wanted to do was go up to the hills in Berkeley & wait for dark and look for deep space objects like nebulae, galaxies, star clusters. And it was awesome. Eventually, constantly staring into the abyss of our universe started to wear on me and I got pretty bummed out on a cosmic level and didn't see the point of anything. I had to return home to the east coast for a bit to deal with some family stuff, but when i got back I laid off the astronomy stuff and started Yalls.. The path we filmed the video is the same path I would cruise on my way to my favorite observation spot. I'd like to get back up there when it's dark again.
