  1. May the spirit of the holidays in this video be with you. These scenes were shot at two locations in Phoenix. Every year the Phoenix Zoo hosts a visual extravaganza called ZooLights. A central lake allows capturing many of the light exhibits as reflections on the water. The other location was a small house which hosts an annual holiday extravaganza of its own. The entire yard and house are transformed into a magical miniature moving Christmas carnival. The electric bill must be staggering, and parking is impossible. Happy and peaceful holidays.

  2. I picked the dullest, dreariest day to test my Sony A7s ll.
Shot using S-log2 plus some shots in Cine gamma 1 and 2 at 25fps and 100fps. Exposing 2 stops to the right as a general rule and basically guessing by what I could see in the viewfinder. I didn't feel safe with the in-camera LUT as this was the first time I'd shot S-Log2 and I thought id be better off seeing what would result from using my own judgement.
I think most shots were over exposed slightly but it's amazing how you can make corrections without crushing everything or losing the highlights. Im a novice and just beginning to get my head around grading s-log 2 & 3 - here I used the colour palette in FCPX and a James Miller DeLUT.
    Canon 24 - 70mm f2.8
    Canon 16 - 35mm f2.8
    Canon 70 - 200mm f2.8
    Sigma 35mm f1.4
    ....all with the metabones adaptor.
The camera is a dream and the only flaw I have discovered is that your saved presets disappear from the camera memory when you remove and format the memory card. Please correct me if I'm wrong.
Cant wait to get out and shoot some more (if it ever stops raining!)

  4. ( english text below )

The film is inspired by a short poem in the novel "Kusamakura", by Sôseki :
    Seated alone in silence
I can see a shaded light within my heart
Too many things happen amongst humans
How could I forget this inner world?

By chance I was bestowed a serene day
I understood a hundred years of turmoil
Where will I keep this distant nostalgia?
If not in the vast skies where white clouds reign

    Authors statement :
The film is - as the poem that inspired it - a search of serenity. But with images teaming with life amongst humans, even when all seems quiet. Sound is always direct. Images caught on location. No dialogues or actors. We aim to suggest more with less : some might call it minimalist cinema, we call it cinéma fragile.
No dialogues / English or french text

  5. the journey (a good land)
When everything seems irremediable and lost, a meaningless life, nature seems to respond.
This is a good earth and that is worth living.
A reflection about the meaning of life, as a journey, and about the endless beauties that surround us.
Along the way, there are also musical memories, the music that lasted from my adolescence, Cliff Richard, Uriah Heep and always Georges Delerue.
Filmed in Nazaré, Vide, Serra do Larouco,
    Porto Covo, Setúbal, Portugal.
    Iguaçu, Brazil.
    Patagonia, Argentina.
