1. Low angle depth-of-field test at dusk. ISO is creating a bit of noise, especially in the dark areas, but the overall look is still nice. Small amount of stabilization in post. This kind of shot is made possible by the articulating LCD on the 60D—much of the reason I bought this camera.

    Camera: Canon 60D
    Shot in 24p/shutter @ 1/50, ISO 1000
    Lens: Canon 50mm f1.8
    Edited and graded in FCPX

  2. A quick trip to the market with Siena Kaya. Playing around more with FCPX and starting to get used to it (gasp!)
    Shot on a 60D
    Tamron 17-50 f2.8 VC lens
    Edited in FCPX
Graded in FCPX, Davinci Resolve and MB Looks

  3. Another test of FCPX. I'm starting to enjoy this program, although precision editing still seems a bit more elusive than with FCP 7. This is a fake title sequence I created for "SHOCK"—just as an excuse to play around with FCPX titles and effects, as well as post some of my original music. This is all just scratch footage from around Saigon.

  4. Following a quick shoot around the yard, I made my way into the studio to try out a new little camera slider I just built. Still getting used to the timing of the thing: where you see the unnatural vibration/interlacing is where I ran the thing too fast. Even shot at 60fps, it's important to move the slider really slowly if you plan on slowing it down further in post. This allows for the best image per frame.

    Canon HF-S100
    Wide Angle adapter
    0.9 ND Filter
    60fps
    F 2.8

  5. Canon HF-S100 on a DIY camera slider. Using a Tiffen 0.9 ND filter and opened up to F2.8. Edited in FCP and graded with Looks.
