The flirty ’60s, Wild West, winter sports, and funky ’70s were just a few of the inspirations found at the Cynthia Rowley Fall/Winter 2014 presentation held at the Diamond Horseshoe at the Paramount Hotel. Showcasing only eight looks from her collection, a couple of models greeted the audience encased in glass. Rowley played with nylon, fur, and wool, presenting structured jackets, shift dresses in different colors, and leather midi skirts.

Brian Buenaventura, lead hair stylist for Rowley’s presentation, created the athletic, fun, and chic updo. Buenaventura and his team from Cutler Salon wanted a modern take on the Bridget Bardot look and started by applying the Redken Full Frame 07 All-Over Volumizing Mousse and drying, making sure to add volume. Then, Buenaventura separated the hair into strips and applied Redken Refresh 01 Aerosol Hair Powder Dry Shampoo. Next, the team teased the roots of the hair, creating volume, and spraying with Redken Quick Tease 15 Backcombing Finishing Spray. After the roots were teased, a two inch curling iron was used to make loose waves, and a deep part was added to the left. Finally, to keep the look together, the team dusted the hair with the Redken Forceful 23 Super-Strength Finishing Spray.

To match the sporty collection and hairstyle, Adrien Pinault of Birchbox created a “racing stripe” with the eyeliner. The models rocked an electric, almost neon blue/teal liner. On the eyes, the Cynthia Rowley Eye Shadow Palette-No.1, the Cynthia Rowley Beauty Pencil Eye Liner in Sky Blue, and the Vasanti Kajal Extreme Intense Eye Pencil in Electric Navy were all applied. On the face, the team put on the Jouer Luminizing Moisture Tint and the Jouer Sheer Matte Powder & Bronzer Duo to leave a clean, fresh foundation.

Rowley gave the LBD a new twist, adding leafy, colorful prints and finishing her dresses and skirts off with a round cut. Most looks were paired with leather over-the-knee boots in browns and blacks, along with crazy cool sunglasses and geometric bangles. Rowley is the master of boxy and shapely silhouettes, and showed her models in flared trousers and jackets with bell sleeves. Pieces could be found in an array of colors, from a blush pink skirt, to a cerulean coat worn over a red shift dress, to mustard yellow leather shorts with black trimming. Rowley’s collection was a testament to how a mix of different inspirations can come together to create a knockout collection.
