Highland hosted the third annual Battle of Hellion race on Sunday, Oct. 20th. A favorite among local DH’ers, the race consists of timed single amateur runs and multiple six racer heats for the pros. Hellion, Highland’s signature jump trail, provided an action packed battle ground with its mile-long descent and features including sizable tables, step-ups, and massive berms.
In the end pro racers Phil Kmetz and Karen Eagan took the top spots. Both were awarded the Battle of Hellion trophy shields atop the granite podium, ending the festive OverMountain Enduro/Battle of Hellion weekend at Highland.

In the peak of foliage season the racers conquered the expanded Highland enduro course with the newly added “Faux Pine” trail as well as the ever popular “Paddy Glades” in a grueling 4 stage race. In the end; local New Hampshire boy, Ben Moody and Alison Zimmer of Vermont stood atop the Highland rocks for the pros, while Seamus Powell and Alison Zimmer took home over all titles for the 3 stop series.
A huge thanks to the racers and sponsors; Mavic, Shimano, Camelbak, Native, and Geax for supporting the event!
