Imagineer Systems: mocha planar tracking videos

  1. This is another scene required the elements removed from the background that did not blend into scene. Using a windowing technique, all building and shore line artifacts were remove. Complementary elements (trees, beach, and sand) was layered back in. Finally, the foreground elements (mostly the woman coming off the boat) were added back on top. Tracking of the background mountains was done in Mocha AE.

No color correction was done to the scene.

  2. This was my final project for a compositing class. The building was shot locally by me and I used a mixture of elements from Video Copilot's Action Essentials 2 and Digital Juice's Compositor's Toolkit to make the comp in After Effects. Tracking and roto was handled with Imagineer's Mocha.

I am happy with the way this turned out. This was my first major compositing project and while there are some things I could have done better, I am happy overall. My next goal is to add some sound effects.

  5. The rotoscoping requirements was to remove the mic without loosing the tattoo. This was done using a windowing approach. The first step was to remove the wire with a blurred mask. After the wire was removed, selective foreground elements were layered back in - the cross, message over cross, shadows.

All composited in After Effects. For the few elements that needed to be tracked, Mocha AE was used.
