    Katherine Readey Chilcote, Co-Founder, Cleveland Colectivo, is passionate about civic enterprise to accelerate change in cities. Bringing corporate experience and business development skills, Katherine addresses the role of altruism and giving circle leadership to advance creative enterprise in Cleveland, Ohio.

    Cleveland Colectivo is based on a giving circle model developed in 2005 by a circle of like-minded friends who wanted to invest in early stage creative enterprise for a positive impact on their city.

    Dreamwork and Social Evolution with Nicole McGee, Co-Founder, Cleveland Colectivo and Artistic Director, Upcycle Parts Shop and Collective Upcycle, a pop-up boutique.

    Nicole is a co-founder and artist recipient of Cleveland Colectivo giving circle investment.

    She shares her success story of engaging with a community of like-minded entrepreneurs in 2005 who wanted to invest in local creative enterprise for city wide impact.

    Colectivo efforts connected her to the organization's social venture capital opportunities and expanded community support to scale her small enterprise.

    Today, Nicole sells her artwork in community directly to local neighborhoods in showcase pop-up boutiques. One store, the Upcycle Parts Shop, specializes in the creative re-use of business waste.

    “Cleveland is the kind of place if you love it a little bit, it loves you back a lot.”

    Nicole says being involved in Cleveland Colectivo from the start taught her just how the actions of friends working together can reverberate throughout a region.
