  4. "The path taken by a ray of light in traveling between two points requires either a minimum or a maximum time" (Fermat’s principle)
So, as you can imagine, the path chosen by a ray of light is probably the shortest route to travel from the light source up to your eyes, but obviously a photon cannot choose path or destination; the light beam goes straight on even for light-years, transporting information through space and time, until it reach something or someone who deviate or stops its journey.
We can say it is just because light spread in every direction, or that you are in the right place in the right moment, as the swimmer Palomar thought while admiring the reflection of the setting sun extending on the sea surface up to his eyes:
"Everyone with eyes sees the reflection that follows him; illusion of the sense and of the mind holds us all prisoners, always (…….) This means that I belong to the feeling and thinking subjects, capable of establishing a relationship with the sun's rays, and of interpreting and evaluating perceptions and illusions (…….) All this is happening not on the sea, not in the sun, but inside my head, in the circuits between eyes and brain. I am swimming in my mind; this “sword of light” exists only there; and this is precisely what attracts me. This is my element, the only one I can know in some way." (Palomar - Italo Calvino).
The connection between light and sound we made it is due to the wave-particle duality of light; like for sound a ray of light has a wavelength.
Most of light’s wavelength are so short that can’t be perceived by human eye, like most of the sound frequencies can’t be heard because of the limit of our hearing, but we can give some of them shape and movement through cymatics.
“Cymatics” is a word coined by Dr. Hans Jenny, who’s carried on the Chladni's experiments studying in deep the interaction between sound frequencies and fluids.
The visualization of music through the surface tension inspired this visual, not just for the fascinating patterns generated by sound waves, but also for the deep connection between sound and matter, which probably extends beyond our current comprehension of the physical law.
Like for the light waves part of this video, the cymatics doesn’t provide us any reference point; all the interpretations are left to our imagination, to the feelings the music arouse, and the synesthesia between the senses in our minds.
"This is not an unregulated chaos; it is a dynamic but ordered pattern."
    (Dr. Hans Jenny about cymatics)

The handcraft images are made using different techniques of shooting at high magnification, reflections and refractions of light through objects and fluid's surface tension on platonic solids.
Most of the shootings are based on fluid animated by the music of various frequency ranges directly from multitrack music by Iteration (cimatica technique).
