User needs not government needs
By Cath Richardson, previously at UK Government Digital Service and Made by Many
Government isn't typically known for leading the way in service design. But in the last few years, the UK's Government Digital Service has gained worldwide respect and inspired governments from America to Estonia. How did this happen? By designing services that start with needs - user needs, not government needs. From design principles to exposure hours, Cath will share her experiences of what that looks like in practice with plenty of stories from the field.

What is luxury?
By Frieda, a designer, curator and creative consultant
The topic of luxury is as diverse as complex, but little explored and often illuminated one-dimensionally. What is luxury? Luxury can´t be categorized and therefore will remain a term based on relativity, subjectivity, environment and time frame. One man´s luxury could be another´s banality. Frieda will share her project where she defined four fields of luxury based on user needs, on which she later built up product concepts, in which the luxury lies not only in the choice of materials but in which a special sense of luxury is conveyed.
