Lots of Browns
Show Date: January 2nd & 3rd, 2016
Location: Oak Creek; Lake Michigan, Milwaukee, WI
Guide: Charter Captain Brian Settele [414-559-9238 | fishchaserguideservice.com]
It’s a new year, and we start it out with a fun but soggy day of fishing out in front of the Oak Creek power plant on Lake Michigan. Our guide Brian Settele says that the warmer than normal temps have kept the ice away, and that open water fishing on this great lake will be possible all winter long.
We are mainly casting, with a bit of trolling mixed in, in front of he power plant - close to shore, where the warm water is exiting the plant. Baitfish school here, and the brown trout are here to eat to prep for the colder temperatures to come.
Jordan Gustman from MW Marine joins us as our first guest in the new year, and he’s listening to the captain, and throwing a 3” white Kalin’s grub, and catching a bunch of fish. Along with the grub, we throw Strike King lures, and the Jerk Minnow. It’s loads of fun, and a great way to ring in the new year!
