You know, what it really comes down to is two-fold: 1. I don't have the core and/or leg strength to pop up straight while keeping the board under me--if you'll notice, I tilt towards my toes and so I'm losing olliefficiency. 2. I, of course, want to land on the board, so I'm trying to stay low to the ground, which at my height and with an insufficiently strong core and legs, I do that by hunching. It's a sad state of affairs, but this is why we watch the tape. To that end, I'm better at staying on top of my board now than when I was in high school. Also, my friend used to skate and has been giving me all kinds of tips; if you compare this video to the last one, you'll probably notice that I'm spreading my legs more, which is helping keep my board going straight in the air.
I can't wait to be good enough to be embarrassed by these videos!
