The Storm Chaser is a new short film from writer/director Jack Pirie. The film follows storm-chasing legend Thomas Traversa as he embarks on a perilous journey in search of a mythical storm, the likes of which the world has never witnessed.
A genre-blurring docu-drama about the profound encounters between humans and nature at its extremes.
We shot most of the windsurfing footage over three days with a crew of just four people, mostly around Northern Spain. Much like the themes of the film itself, production was a constant and humbling game of chess, waiting for the moment when the weather was ready to give us what we needed (a Producer’s worst nightmare). Pierre Bouras, the legendary (and superhuman) Jetski driver, was given the task of riding alongside Thomas with the cameraman Jamie Hancock (windsurfing cinematographer) clutching on the back, skirting the edges of 14+ ft high waves trying to avoid being devoured, and capturing tiny moments of Thomas in flow.
Thanks for watching!

This is it, a small documentary about the preparation of a shooting in magic portuguese conditions.
I can't describe the feeling of now seeing this video completed, I've been dreaming for ten years about this wave next to Lisbon and I'm now watching my video. What an amazing adventure, looking forward for more actions with this legend (is it god talking?) in Portugal and abroad.
This would not have been possible without the help of Pierre Bourras, thanks bro. Thanks for watching and looking forward to sharing a session all together !
Well, the title says it all, this is the little windsurfing I could do in between rehab and surgery, not much, the bare minimum I could get just not to freak out. Action is unimpressive, I'm fully injured in both knees, but I guess is nice to look at those waves from the surfer's perspective. Mind surfing is always a source of knowledge!! Hope you like it :)
