Writing's been in my blood ever since I can remember. And what I remember is falling in love with storytelling when I read Mark Twain's "Oliver Twist" at age 7. I was asking "may I have some more please?"

Because my father served in the Navy, my family and I moved around the country about a dozen times and everywhere we went, I loved getting involved with the community. (Imagine me as a cute child/tween/teen handing out poetry and short stories to strangers in British Columbia/Cedar Rapids/Middletown).

But enough about my childhood. You're probably wondering about my work history.

I graduated in July 2012 from Kennesaw State University with a bachelor's degree in journalism and a minor in professional writing. In my first job, I became the pioneer writer/reporter for the Juvenile Justice Information Exchange (JJIE) in June of 2010 and went on to intern at the number one news station in Atlanta, WSB-TV, for the entire year of 2011. From there, I chose to diversify and worked in the newsroom at WGCL-TV/CBS Atlanta while also working as the writer/social media intern for The Clean Air Campaign in the spring of 2012.

After graduating, I headed back to the JJIE as the writer/online content producer for both it and its sister paper, Youth Today, covering juvenile justice and child welfare news.

January 2013 began my career in broadcast at WRDW News 12 as a multi-media journalist/anchor. During the week, I shot, wrote and edited enterprising news stories and on Saturday, I solo anchored the 6pm and 11pm newscasts.

After six months manning the Saturday desk, I joined the News 12 This Morning show as the Education Reporter, focusing on hard news stories that addressed family issues and impacted parents, students and teachers.

Currently, you can still catch me on News 12 This Morning as the breaking news morning reporter where I'm often first on the scene, providing live, visual details and keeping viewers updated online and through social media.
