A few weeks ago I was approached by my friend Paul from media company 'Digifish' about editing together some highlights from Paris Games Week, France’s largest gaming consumer show with more than 180,000 people attending over five days. The edit was for Playstation / Amplify, and it was to show all their exhibitions at the event.
The 'Playstation Experience' included a 1,200 m² event space, giving visitors the chance to try the highly anticipated PlayStation Vita and also explore new levels of Uncharted 3, with the surrounding décor reflecting the famous desert scene within the game. Visitors also had the chance to experience many other new and upcoming titles.
The footage was filmed by someone else in Paris, and the raw footage sent to us via an FTP site. (it was around 100gb of footage and took quite a long time to download!) I was given a music track to edit to, the text to add and some Playstation images to use.
I edited the highlights along to the music track and created motion graphics for the text used throughout and for the start of the video, making use of various Playstation images in the motion graphics. A lot of the footage that we had been sent was not that great, but we made it work with what we had and overall I was pleased with what was achieved! The client at Amplify was also very pleased!
