1. In this third of three articles I start by taking some baby QWERTY steps. Then I go on to look at some special fonts or sets of characters such as the Wingdings family. Finally I attempt to jump through some hoops taking a simple logo, turning it into a character in a font and applying some of the new 3D tools in FCPX 10.2. All of which whilst chanting a SVG mantra and crossing my fingers. Last but by no means I attempt to turn Bruce the Wonder Yak into a 3D entity! 2. In this second tutorial I look at the different ways of forming and lighting the text with the aid of the inspector. Forming the text ranges from giving it some depth and basically making it convex, concave and adding some ridges and valleys. Then I go on to punch some holes into the text and even go all the way through to the other side. 3. In this series of articles I lead you systematically through the different layers of the title tools in FCPX. From the superficial ring my bell kind of stuff in the Project window, turning 2D titles into 3D titles in the inspector window. To the hidden gems that are hidden in places that actually make sense such as the viewer. Through too the meat and potatoes like material that are to be found in the Inspector of all places! In short there is a place for everything and everything has a place.
