"This brainchild of Leyya Mona Tawil, a Syrian-Palestinian-American artist working in dance, sound and performance, unveils the New York premiere of “Unstoppable,” which takes inspiration from many sources in politics and culture to create a world of Arab experimentalism. The piece features Tawil performing fictional folk dances and singing about a homeland that doesn’t yet exist."

Lime Rickey International’s UNSTOPPABLE is a transdisciplinary work
created and performed by Leyya Mona Tawil. Her sonic and choreographic
platform is built under the influence of Arabic tarab, dabke, noise, and
conceptual movement practices.
Prior to its NYC premiere, UNSTOPPABLE has been performed throughout
Europe at festivals and venues including Der Bloede Dritte Mittwoch
(Vienna), MD301 (Amsterdam), and Love Supreme Festival (Barcelona).
Previous U.S. engagements include YallaPunk (Philadelphia), and Sonic
Circuits Festival (Washington DC).
Lime Rickey International is grateful for the support of Abrons Arts Center through the Abrons AIRspace Program, East Bay Community Foundation and a Saari Fellowship/KONE Foundation.
Tonight’s program of Lime Rickey International’s UNSTOPPABLE is co-presented by the Invisible Dog Art Center and Arab.AMP, a platform that celebrates the plurality of Arab voices operating in futurism, the Avant Garde, and experimental forms.

Lime Rickey International returns to Entropy for this special performance. Her work is part mystery, an assault of the senses, and elements of subconsciousness to create her own mythocracy.
