Documentary on the National Centre for Social Adaptation of Children, a charitable organization which provides medical and educational support to children with disabilities in Uzbekistan. The charity is backed and funded by Lola Karimova-Tillyaeva and her husband Timur Tillyaev.
“You are not alone” (“Sen Yolg’iz Emassan”) charitable foundation was established in November 2002 at the initiative of Lola Karimova-Tillyaeva to support children in need. It is noteworthy that Uzbekistan, where the charity operates, is the most densely populated country in Central Asia, with 45% of population under the age of 18. As of 2012, there were 2,500 children being brought in the Uzbek orphanages, including 25 Mercy Homes and 13 orphanages for children under the age of three.
Uzbekistan's ambassador to UNESCO Lola Karimova-Tillyaeva has spearheaded the initiative to launch a free iPhone application on Uzbekistan. The newly-launched UZ UNESCO programme seeks to raise the awareness of the international community of the Central Asian country's rich cultural and historical heritage.
