Lookit-Intense Films

Years before Pleasantville or The Secret Life of Walter Mitty (remake), Karl Parker stars as Ned Fielding, a mild-mannered accountant who daydreams of being a film noir detective — until he uncovers a plot to steal the world’s color!

The first short film I ever directed, and completely based around the one shot that I envisioned first — the camera panning around the back of a guy's neck, and suddenly he's in a film noir. A very flimsy thing to hang a plot on, I know, but I think we had fun with it all the same.

Filled with friends from high school, college, and the mall where I worked at a coffee shop. This is the “Director’s Cut” from 1997, which improved on a few of the visual effects with the newly-learned After Effects.

Writer/Director/VFX: Mark Boszko
Ned Fielding: Karl Parker
Everybody Else: I'm too lazy to type all of the credits out. Watch the credits in the movie!

Archive of a few shorts produced under the “Lookit-Intense Films” banner, that my friend Ron “AAlgar” Watt and I either collaborated on, or worked on separately. We put out a friends-and-family DVD set ages ago, covering our work from 1989–2001, thankfully most of it otherwise lost to the ravages of time before Archive.org started saving everything on the internet ever.

These represent the very few shorts I ripped from those DVDs that I don't terribly mind still being public.
