What an amazing first year it has been for my family. For those of you who do not know, my daughter, Lucy, was delivered 10 weeks premature last year via emergency C-section, weighing only 2lbs. If you can picture that, it's the weight of four rolls of nickels. Her hands were no larger than the size of a quarter. Shocking when put into perspective.
Lucy was born with Down's Syndrome and multiple heart defects. We were told she would not survive birth, but after 75 days in the NICU, she was strong enough to come home. At seven months old, she underwent open heart surgery to repair the large holes in her heart. Facing a low chance of surviving surgery, she recovered 46 days in the intensive care unit and is still recovering at home.
Today, Lucy needs your help. She is raising money for the March of Dimes foundation, the leading nonprofit organization for pregnancy and baby health. All she asks, is to donate $6 dollars, which is four rolls of nickels, to the March of Dimes. Your donation will sponsor her to walk in the March for Babies and with your support, you will help her reach her goal.
We appreciate your support for Lucy by your contribution to this wonderful cause. You have touched our hearts and now it's time for Lucy to help the hearts of the half a million babies born too soon each year. We thank you from the bottom of our hearts, big and small.
Love always from your bestest internet friends,
Josh, Sarah & Lucy
