Make It Interesting

  1. This flower as an analogy for the plucking of millions of acres of forest; by us; by you; by me.

    Here's some stats for everyone:

*Rainforest are home to about 50% of the world's species.
*Each day at least 80,000 acres of forest disappear from earth and another 80,000 acres of forest are degraded.
*Deforestation accounts for up to 25% of global emissions of heat trapping gasses (14% transit and industry; 3% aviation.)

This is my entry for the Climate Matters Contest.

  4. The image of this frog which almost vainly tries to escape the artificial world, is reminiscent of Sisyphus. He had gotten the eternal punishment to push a heavy boulder up a steep hill, only to watch it roll back down into the depths. The gods punished him because he had tried to circumvent their laws, and thus nature.
The HD quality allows the viewer very close to the frog. The video shows the unease of the frog exposed to the artificial, blue-green polyester imitation of him otherwise so familiar surroundings. The synchronization with the music makes it a bit painfully lighter to watch. Yma Sumac's 'Chuncho' makes it seem as if the frog is consenting in this circus act which we make him perform.

  5. It's fall.
Leaves turn in multiple colors. The world around you seems like a canvas which gets painted. Everywhere are little details - beautys of the moment which disappear. - hold on! Don't rush. Take some seconds and give them a chance to tell their stories.

I filmed this in Vancouver (Canada). Almost 2 weeks ago. I was so fascinated and captivated that I had the intense feeling that I want to share this. I thought about the music and chose this song because it reminds me of a special time, special friends, special moments.
So I dedicate this video to Suez, Erika, Tony, Tallulah and Everton. You're amazing and colored my life a bit more!

One of the things we learned in college for videography was to take one subject and make it interesting, even though in reality, it's boring with one shot. I wish I still had my footage from then so I could use it as a sample, but I'll do a new one to show you what I mean. I'm going to take a mailbox, and only the mailbox, and make it interesting by showing different shots, pans, and angles. You can take anything you want, as long as it's one subject only. Could be a person, a thing, animal, tree, you name it.
I'll upload the mailbox later once i'm done shooting and editing.
Have fun! *Remember, play with pans, close-ups, different angles...

Do you remember his famous cameo appearances in his masterpieces?
I reunited them here in an original story called "Master of Suspense".
I edited together extracts from 30 films, added special effects and created a new sound design.
