  5. This short film is made from 100% original footage: things I have shot over the 8 years I've spent on and off in New York City.

I was commissioned to speak at the Ayala Museum in the Philippines, the subject was Metrophilia: Love For Cities. I spent an entire month digging through all the mini-DV tapes in my library, looking through hard drives, capturing footage and photos I deemed appropriate. As I was doing this, seeing old memories solidified in images, I wrote the script.

There are a lot of amazing cameos of filmmakers in this piece:
Sara Adina Smith (writer/director, Buster's Mal Heart), Anocha Suwichakornpong (writer/director, By The Time It Gets Dark), Ming Kai Leung (DP, By The Time It Gets Dark, Old Stone), Chris Teague (DP, Broad City, Obvious Child), John Magary (writer/director, The Mend), Myna Joseph (writer/producer, The Mend), Javier Andrade (writer/director, The Porcelain Horse), Nelson Kim (writer/director, Someone Else), Benjamin Gray (editor, God Loves Uganda, The Black List), and Nelson Walker (director/DP, In Transit, Summer Pasture).

This is my love letter to all my friends in New York.
Because, in an alternate universe, New York would be my home base.
