Recorded on 7 December 2016 at Uferstudios, Berlin

This piece was part of my master thesis at HZT - Inter-University Centre for Dance Berlin. It is also a product of, more or less, two years of artistic studies and explorations, both in Berlin and in Helsinki, into physicality, training, institutionalisation of meaning, economy and capitalist value production. A 'sister piece' to Actors of production, called Adsorbsio, was produced in January 2017 in Helsinki.

  2. ADSORBSIO — mihin nämä ruumiit kykenevät [what these bodies are capable of]
Recorded on 14 January 2017 at Cable Factory in Helsinki

Adsorbsio is the final part of a series of stage works, in which we explored the production of meaning through training and through social orders of value. Each part of the series experimented with questions concerning how the trained body and the practicing body are producing meaning and value, and how the body is integrated in orders of value and the economy. Produced in Helsinki, Adsorbsio is also a 'sister piece' to Actors of production, produced in Berlin a month earlier.

    Performed in Finnish, English subtitles

This experimental stage work was the third part of a series produced by Höyhentämö - Pluckhouse. While the concepts for the works in the series are based on Akseli's long-term work, for each individual performance we worked fast, producing unforeseen 'results'.

In Potentia, our focus was on the capabilities of the body as a form of capital, on labour, and what capitalist value production seemed to suggest about ontology of bodies and value creation.
