1. The bronze statue of Peter Pan was created by Alexander Proudfoot and unveiled in 1949 in the grounds of Mearnskirk Hospital in memory of Dr John Wilson, the first medical superintendent of the hospital. The full story may be read elsewhere on the http://www.mearnshistory.org.uk website.
    The statue still stands in front of the Mearnskirk Home on the original hospital site.
