  3. This is a documentary video I made of the MKMT (Miko Kuro's Midnight Tea) from October 30/31 2010.

I enjoy documenting and creating an authentic representation of experience. In this piece, I used the actual, on location sound including camera noise and people sounds - consciously steering away from a music video approach to editing. As a representation of an ART event, the style was designated by the original video footage and the timing therein. It is meant to encapsulate a "happening" and to give an impression... Expressionist, like a moving painting, one can lose oneself in the brushstrokes.
Thanks to all who contributed to this video, especially:
    Miko Kuro (G-hostess and creator)
    Kelly O (African Tek Support)
    Luke Moloney (featured artist/tea mastery)
    Meredith Nicole(fox lady)
    Josie Davis (lady fox)
Stafanya Talenti (event footage, editing and video creation)
    Sammy Chien (live sound/music)
    Kat Morris/Nightshade Beauty (makeup artist)
    Jamie-Lee Fuoco (tea treats)
    Chloe Repchuk(tea service, Miko's Muse)
    Leigh Hawthorn (still photography)

and of course the guest participants=)

  5. This is part of a series of MKMT (Miko Kuro's Midnight Tea) documentaries that I have put together. This particular tea happened on Dec 12-13, 2009. The focus is on the textiles, the costumes that the 3 furies wear which are original pieces by textile artist Mandy Greer.
Stylistically, I did a lot of in-camera editing while I was shooting so that I could then create a multilayered sort of ghostly effect in the final work. The music/sound is the actual live sound from the event which is important to me because it is authentic... that said, the "moving painting" style I have cultivated often makes my subjects appear as apparitions and therefore otherworldly. I love this sort of juxtaposition. Somehow it all goes together so well.

Thanks to all who contributed to this video, especially:
