At Nokia World, I sat down and had a play with the Nokia N900 Maemo device. It is, of course, pre-release — but that didn’t stop the nice looking interface begin to impress. What I really wanted to know though, was what Mr All About Symbian, Rafe Blandford, thought of the device. So I am thoroughly delighted to be able to bring you his first impressions. Here we go…
Some say he can open doors just by looking at them — and that he never, ever sweats. All I know is that he’s called: Rafe Blandford.
Rafe, founder of All About Symbian, knows a thing or two about Symbian. He’s got so much knowledge and experience about the operating system, about Nokia and about the industry in general that it’s not unusual to see various high-ranking Nokia employees bending his ear as he walks around conferences.
I always find Rafe’s insight fascinating — the more so for the launch of the Nokia N97 Mini and the new X6 ‘comes with music’ device. Have a watch.
Last night I popped along to the Motorola DEXT and MOTOBLUR launch in London to take a look at the new Android handset. The video is noisy but I wanted to bring you it right-away as the chap in the video talks through and demonstrates quite a lot of interesting features.
A number of people have asked me directly or commented about how Spotify performs using the 3UK mobile wifi MiFi hotspot. So I sat down and took a video. This is particularly relevant for the legions of iPod Touch users that 3UK is targeting with the MiFi device.
I’ve demonstrated Spotify on my iPhone and my Mac Pro tower, both connected to the MiFi unit. See what you think…
I really, really enjoyed the user experience with the Novatel MiFi unit I tested out last month — so I was delighted to get the opportunity to check-out the first lot of production 3UK Huawei E5830 wireless mobile WiFi/MiFi units. These will be available from 3UK on Friday starting at £99 PAYG (includes 3 months of 3gb/month data) or £69.99 on contract (£15/month for 5gb/month data). See what you think of the experience in the video. I simply love how easy it is to use. No dongles. No arsing about with leads. No software required. Just switch the device on and away you go!
