Autism is becoming increasingly prevalent in the community. In Australia, the disorder now affects as many as one in every 100 people. As revealed in a recent study conducted by the Australian Bureau of Statistics, almost two-thirds of children with a disability are attending mainstream schools which do not always possess the relevant resources and training required to support any one child’s specific needs.
