Recently, I was in an accident, a split second's time was in my favor, the sure difference between life and death. So, I sat down, and asked myself, "Moriah, as an Artist, as a human being, what mark do you want to leave? What will be your legacy? What do you really believe in?!" I pondered this, turning it in my head, my brain the lathe, the idea a huge block of unrefined wood, I was carving it down wondering what it would create. I whittled that big block, down into a toothpick, and chewed on it while I pondered some more. Finally, I arrived at my answer: Love and acceptance. That is what you believe in. That is what you want to convey. Kindness, and compassion towards every life, and to our Mother Earth, and facilitating a place in the hearts of others to accept themselves so they can accept love into their own hearts, and sharing this journey with each other.
I believe in accepting and celebrating every life, in every form, for the beauty it has in its natural form. Every life is worth a celebration, and deserves unconditional love and acceptance. The songs that I sing, the way that I present them, must always be authentic, from the bottom of my big well heart, and must always convey hope and acceptance, growth after tribulation, triumph after heartbreak. There is a divine force that guides all of our hearts, and no matter what you call it, or how you observe it, it is all beautiful, and I believe in celebrating that diverse canvas of humanity.
I believe, if we all lift our hearts up together in in love and acceptance, our hearts will fly the highest, and make the biggest impact for good. The arts are a beautiful vehicle for communicating and facilitating these notions. Art speaks directly to the hearts of mankind. Music seems to speak in a universal voice to the hearts of all beings. I am just doing my little part in the world to spread that love. I sing from the most sincere parts of my soul, and I just hope you can come open your heart to me, the way I will to you, at my performances.
Love and warmth,
Moriah Haven ♥
