Recent reports indicate last year showed a 6.4 percent increase in the number of homeless students in the Bay State. Currently, there are over 15,000 homeless children in the school system, and that number might a low estimate.
Education is vital to break the cycle of homelessness. But how can they focus on their education when some may be worrying about where they will sleep, or what they will eat (if they eat).
These 6 kids, all being helped by the Housing Families in Malden, are overcoming those barriers. They refuse to give up on their dreams.
