30 October 2013: The Police Association of Victoria will welcome new laws blocking outside access to police officers' own DNA samples. The Victorian Parliament is debating a bill restricting public access to DNA samples that are routinely collected to eliminate police DNA from evidence collected at crime scenes. The Police Association has been advising members attending crime scenes not to provide DNA samples until the law changes. The Victoria Police Bill 2013, introduced by Minister for Police and Emergency Services Kim Wells, has reached the second reading stage...
