National Parks HD

  1. If you’re looking for scenic granite mountains reflecting on crystal clear mountain lakes, this is a backpacking trip for you.

Welcome to Young Lakes in Yosemite National Park!

Not only is the setting superb at young Lakes, the location is a splendid launchpad for day trips throughout the alpine region of northern-eastern Yosemite. Mount Conness beckons those looking to bag a peak. Roosevelt Lake is a cross-country trip to another lake which lies in the shadows below Mount Conness. Or take a brief hike up to the upper lakes in the Young Lakes series.

  4. Shot in August 2011, I carried my video gear in backpacks over 6 miles up to elevations of 13,000 ft. to get some of these shots. Special thanks to Dr. Nathan Rank and the White Mountain Research Station for invaluable guidance. The petroglyphs in this video are over 1,000 years old. Some of the locations include Mono Lake, White Mountain, Bull Lake, Long Lake, Crooked Creek Station, Barcroft Observatory, Chocolate Mountain, and Yosemite National Park. The Bristlecone pine trees were shot in an area where some of the trees are over 4,000 years old and still alive. Mono Lake was formed around 760,000 years ago. Also, views of Bishop Pass. Music is Milhaud and is polytonal.

Landscapes: Volume 2 is the second of a 4 part series (so far). Every frame of this video is a raw still from a Canon 5D2 DSLR and processed with Adobe software. In Volume 2 I again show off my beautiful home state of Arizona and I also made several trips to Utah. This video has some iconic landmarks that we have seen before. I felt that showing them again with motion controlled HDR and/or night timelapse would be a new way to see old landmarks.

Most of the motion control for this video was done with the Stage Zero Dolly by Dynamic Perception. Once I got comfortable using the DP dolly I fell in love. I can set up shots now in much shorter times. More importantly for me, it is much smaller and much more portable than my homemade motion control. Without it, shots like the Delicate Arch shot in Utah would be nearly impossible due to the length of the hike. Buy the Stage Zero Dolly if you are looking for quality, inexpensive, easy-to-use motion control. dynamicperception.com/

Music is "Sunshine (Adagio In D Minor)" by John Murphy. #15 here: itunes.apple.com/us/album/sunshine-music-from-motion/id297702863

Saving the best for last . . . thanks to my wonderful wife Laura. Not only does she put up with and support this crazy passion of mine, she helped out on many of these shots.

    ENJOY
