  2. And the winner of the 2019 NJ Miss Amazing Pageant is...

"We envision a world where girls and women with disabilities have equal opportunities to reach their fullest potential." ~Miss Amazing

The Miss Amazing organization is on a mission to provide opportunities for girls and women with disabilities to build confidence and self-esteem through a pageant experience and in a supportive environment.

Meet Julia Simko, New Jersey's Sr Miss winner. She is an outgoing young woman who was diagnosed with Asperger's a decade ago. She openly talks about her pageant experience of making friends, building life skills, and defining her 3 platforms that she is now committing her life to support in an effort to dispel stereotypes, to raise her visibility and to make a difference.

Julia also announced that she has set a goal: to compete in the National Miss Amazing Pageant in Chicago in a few weeks. She is fundraising for travel and accommodations and is grateful for every donation, no matter how small. Julia explains towards the end of the show how we can donate by check. 4. How to Create a Part-Time or Full-Time Home School for Your Child

As parents, we want the best for our children yet sometimes we don't know what to do to help them learn, grow and thrive. Only 25% of the day is spent at school, leaving us in charge of most of our children's development. After running an autism home school program for 8 years, Jane Lynn learned 4 key steps to successfully inspiring her son to learn, be more focused, and interact more with friends.

In this episode, Jane Lynn walks you through these 4 steps, and even demonstrates how to brainstorm and create 3 games to use with your child. This process is the linchpin to the dramatic growth of her son, going from completely exclusive and "in his own world" to being social, seeking out people and interactions, and to thriving in school.

Jane Lynn also shares a simple outdoor activity that is fun for all ages, as well as answers a question on how to transition a teenager on the spectrum from one school to another.

And now, her book, "Finding Your Lost Child: Understanding Allergies, Nutrition and Detox in Autism" hits the bookshelves MAY 22, 2019.
