    This is the official trailer of the documentary "The Northern Lights - A Magic Experience".

    The 25 minute documentary takes you on a breathtaking journey through space. By using pedagogic top-quality animations and spectacular solar imagery from NASA satellites it tells the full story of the northern lights from myth to science. The film is packed with interesting historical anecdotes and includes tips about how to take your own stunning aurora photos.

    It includes some of the world’s best photography and time lapse sequences of the northern lights. The film is perfectly suited for use at science museums, planetariums, hotels and by aurora tour guide companies.

    The documentary is produced by Pål Brekke, an internationally recognized solar physicist and public outreach expert with many years at NASA Goddard Space Flight Center (solarmax.no/Aurora/Home.html). Co-producer is the award-winning aurora photographer and popular science writer Fredrik Broms who took all the aurora images and time lapse footage (northernlightsphotography.no). The winners and notable photos of the 4th International Earth and Sky Photo Contest, (twanight.org/contest), a program by The World at Night (TWAN) in collaboration with the Global Astronomy Month (astrowb.org) and the National Optical Astronomy Observatory (NOAO). The contest theme is Dark Skies Importance. Similar to TWAN itself, the contest also aims to reclaim the natural beauty of starry sky and to help preserving the dark skies which are not yet dominated by artificial lights. Moderator: The channel is moderated by Fredrik Broms. Fredrik is an Aurora Photographer based in Tromsø in Northern Norway. Fredrik has won several international photo contests for his aurora photos, he has held aurora photo exhibitions and is the author of the recent popular science book "Northern Lights - A Guide" together with Solar physicist Pål Brekke (2013). In March 2014, he released his first documentary about Northern Lights (produced by Pål Brekke and Fredrik Broms).
